    Maine ski fun

I'd like to put together a weekend of ski flying up in Maine this winter.

Does anyone know when the Bowman ski fly in will be in 2018? What are other fun places to land nearby -- Lake Mooselookmeguntic and Rangely lakes, other ideas?

Any suggestion for a HEATED cabin right on a lake or landable field in that area?

Take a look at the Katahdin region, too. Heated cabins at NEOC and a ski plane friendly airport nearby at KMLT.

I want to do a ski fly in at my strip in Exeter. The tough thing about planning something in the winter is that the weather usually sucks. I will probably wait until the week of to make the call. The Birches resort is a great place to get a burger on Moosehead Lake. I heard that The White House Landing at the North end of Pemadumcook is back being open in winter. That would be an excellent spot for a get together. There are a few cabins there as well and it's pretty remote
Parlin Pond Lodge has good food
the best get together so are usually impromptu, planned the day before

    I'm in!

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be
found in all corners of the earth."

Then he made the earth round... and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I have a camp east of old town with 7 or so beds on a lake with generator power down to the lake.

Nice. That even solves how to heat the airplanes. How much notice would you need for us to use it? I am concerned about Scouter's point that the weather is unpredictable in winter.

I can't plan a WAD, but once I pick a base lodge and a date, other folks are more than welcome to join in.

This sounds fun. Would Avery’s and Gray Ghost work too?

I believe we decided on February 11th for our ski plane fly in. I will get a final confirmation and let you know.
