Everything was great until that Spit glided 10 miles and shot down another plane with no engine at the end.
After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says WTF !

I want to fly the Yak with the IMAX bolted to the wing. That must be an interesting ride!

It was a great movie, but that thing went a couple miles down the beach with the prop stopped and it even looked to be climbing in one scene.

One problem -- wrong plane. The Hawker Hurricane did the vast majority of the fighting then and in the Battle of Britain. There aren't enough Hurricanes to do the filming but this was the plane that did the job. The Hawker was built by private enterprise when the Hawkers saw the war coming. The Spitfire was a government project that got loads of wartime PR support. A friend of mine is restoring a Battle of Britain veteran Hurricane and is looking for a 50% partner to finish the job. This might be the only chance to ever fly one of these beautiful airplanes. The price of admission is very high - includes perfect restoration of Merlin 3 engine and the original IFF transponder in its wooden box. Plane will be based at Imperial War Museum Duxford. Its on offer at www.clearskyltd.com.

We had a Spitfire at the field near ours most of the summer, saw it flying quite a bit. It is a Mk1 and perfect restoration, the plane was shot down in the battle of Dunkirk. They have a pic. Of it crashed on the beach and German soldiers standing on it. The early Mk 1's had a over heating issues and when it landed it had to be towed back to the hangar. Beautiful machine to see in the air.

Ah guys, just enjoy the movie, the popcorn and the girl(not in that order). It was not about flying any more than "Flight" was about airline operations.
Thanks WWhunter thanked for this post
