Maine Bushwackers Burning Cub Fly In Aug 4-6, 2017

Now that the 4th has passed, the place is coming along and the grass is growing, its time to plan out the fly in Aug 4-6
In the great tradition of Phil Zinck the Bushwacker, Brenda and I hope you all can come to the Pine tree State

We have plenty of room, will have showers and plenty of grass to camp
We have some good flyouts planned with something for everyone from gravel bars to lobster rolls
Wrking on a flyout that will have a tour of PK Floats mfg

The theme is Burning Cub I am building a wooden cub to burn as bonfire Sat night
Bicycles provided if you want to pedal around the burning cub barea$$

Hoping to have Maine lobster on Sat night.

Its still coming together so stay tuned

I do need to know if you will be attending and eating Sat night, and am waiting on cost of dinner

otherwise please post here or email jimcrane04435@gmail.com

    See you in August!

I would like to wait until the week before and put the shout out for lobster numbers. Trying to get a couple fishermen I know to pay back a few favors so the cost will be minimal on lobsters.
    Glad you can come

Jim, do you have a loose fitting pair of jeans that you can wear so your butt crack is exposed. Would make the " Bushwacker " part more realistic.

So my friend Mark over by Syracuse with the nice Kinner Fleet biplane came over to cheer me up. He borrowed this dish from his dog and is thinking of patenting it. One person doesn't deserve to have friends like this.

Sure thing. Beaver, 180 ,Cubs we make no judgement. I would prefer underpowered nosedraggers go into Dexter 1B0 and I will pick you up. Strip is 1650 grass with good approaches.
I have a few things to post tomorrow when I get home. Long term weather is suspect right now but that forecast is a week out. We are all ready for everybody

Morning Jim: I bought 2 fuselages from that craigslist add you mentioned a while ago. Wondering if anyone can tell me if these Spraker built fuselages are all 4130. He built them for a retired warden pilot who died recently, and I bought them from his son. Son said he thought they were about 10 or 12 yrs old, and that spraker had built them. A j-3 type is finished out, and a super cub style one is tack welded only with no fittings. Not sure what I will do with them just yet, but am trying to determine if they are all 4130. Also got some heavy duty 1 and 1/2 inch gear (standard length) built at the same time. Any info is appreciated. Found an old archive on here about 2004, but didn't learn a whole lot. Any info anybody? If anyone has info please PM me; I wasn't trying to hyjack the thread.

HI Jim, Alice is driving up leaving Wednesday but will arrive Thursday morning. I'll be flying up Wednesday and stay at Phil Zs so I can fly up to meet Alice. She has planned a whale watching evening tour in Bar Harbor! Hope wx not a factor. We are staying at the Brewster Inn in Dexter. Really looking forward to this Jim.

Safe travels Jim. Weather is looking so so after thursday, but a 30 percent chance of showers the last month has meant zero rain.

Everything is ready to go, fingers crossed on the weather. We may have to rethink the coast on Friday if we get humidity, it will be foggy

Frequency here to use is 122.75

    A couple things
Please no screaming flat hat low passes between the house and hangar, stay above the trees please. If you end up sticking out of my house, I am going to have to come live with your widow, because mine will kill me as well
    Please be safe

Dont overfly the houses on main road to the west. I have great neighbors and want to keep it that way

Please start your names now, and let me know how many lobsters you want for Sat night. We plan to drink beer, eat lobsters and burn the cub Sat night regardless of weather, so if you come by chevy not problem just come The schedule at the top of this post should be pretty close, depending on the weather

We should be good on food, but bring your favorite snack to share. I have the potato chips covered

Picture via my summer resident, JP looking Southeast. Your can see road to west with house, and my 2 potato warehouses in the distance, they are good landmarks.

    GPS coordinates are 44-59'-05.66" 69-06'-55.55"

Please come and lets have fun

    jim

Forgot to say if you have a favorite handgun or long rifle, throw it in and bring it along. I have a handgun area and can set up some targets at 200 years or so for rifles. Might be something to do if wx is crappy
