I am not a Cherokee aficionado - I'd rather drive.
My neighbor asked me a question about trim tab angles - I tromped over there and took Smart Level measurements.
Now I am not sure of this, but he said the maintenance manuals were the opposite of what his airplane was doing - I forget which, but one way the trim tab was 3 degrees from the stab, and the other it was 13 degrees. Easy to see with the naked eye, and Smart Level concurred.
I only glanced at the maint. manual, but had him go look at other Cherokees. Others were set up just like his, so off he went on a successful test flight.
Should I doubt him and carefully read the maintenance manual, or is it in fact misleading? Difficult to believe such an error would exist.
No, I didn't sign anything. His mechanic was there.
