I've turned a few other guys onto Posi Locks through the years but I had an experience today that I thought I'd share. Several years ago I had a JPI EDM711 installed in my Cessna. My mechanic at the time used Posi Locks for the EGT and CHT wire extensions. Never a problem but today I had #3 EGT start dancing up and down and a few minutes later it dropped off completely. I landed and took care of my chores and then pulled the top cowl to investigate. Well, #3 EGT wire had worked loose from the connector. It took about 15 seconds to back the Posi Lock off and reconnect it securely. No tools or parts required. I guess a guy should check his Posi Locks more often than never in 7 years but the fix sure was easy, and that scores points with me.
