IO-520 JPI oil temp sensor location?

That is what I'd expect but is not the case on my engine.
I wonder if there is a something at fault with the oil cooler itself.
Will place a call to TCM tomorrow and see if that have heard of this before.

I plan to but just wanted some feedback on other 185 owners if that is normal at the 30-35 deg temp range.

The oil cooler is cooling the oil, hmm.....
sounds to me like it's doing its job.
I'd cover more of the cooler & see what that does to the temp.
What power settings are you running?
Maybe you need to pump it up a little,
or lean it out more?

Try it again running 24 squared leaned to 30-50 ROP (for me that pretty much hottest exhaust 1360-1390 depending on altitude) and see. Remember, you gotta make heat to have heat...

Thank you all, thats what I needed to hear.
Its normal, will cover the entire cooler and see what temps I get.

The IO520's I have flown lately only have colored range markings. Sorry I cannot give you a number.

My 470 runs too cool as well. FYI
