Firewall Fuel Fitting help

Any help on the brass fitting on the interior side into the firewall? I had a leak so I am replacing the fuel line and the brass fitting. How do I install a new fitting without removing the floorboards?

step one is buy http://www.stevesaircraft.com/gascolator.php new style gascolator if you don't have one... big safety improvement.. checkout the crash pictures at bottom

to your original question, the fitting stays in gacolator and you remove the assembly through firewall, by taking bail off

It is a great site with lots more knowledge than I'll ever have.

I bought steves gascolator several years ago to get rid of pesky leaks. I hated the original gascolator ! If I even looked at it wrong it leaked

The leak was coming from the fuel line on the interior side of the firewall. I think with metal floors, you would have the 1/8" clearance to loosen the brass elbow but I couldn't with the wood floors. I trimmed the floors every so slightly with a dremel. Made a new fuel line And the leaks are gone.
