    special airworthiness cert-canada

Ok fellas got a question for all you guys with Alaska to lower 48 experience. A buddy of mine is looking at buying a 180 in Alaska that needs some minor work to pass annual. But it is labor intensive sheetmetal work so the only way he could come out ahead on this purchase is to get it down here and do the work himself. We can get a special airworthiness certificate/ferry permit for it because all of the work that needs done is not affecting the airworthiness of the airplane... Wondering if any of you have experience with coming through canada with a SAC/ferry permit? Or if it is even possible... Thanks

I can put you in touch with a VERY helpful Transport Canada guy in Kelowna who helped a couple of us through what could have been a paperwork nightmare. In lieu of an inspection, he said "send me some pix".

Oh yeah, we can PM... check yours. Scott will fix ya right up I'm sure.
