    Crossover exhaust for C-90

I just finished the fabrication and install of a lycoming style crossover exhaust on my c-90 powered cub. Cly#4 goes to cyl#3-cyl#1 goes to.cyl#2. I replaced the 2-into-1 style exhaust, and can say that I'm fairly impressed with the results. About 30 rpm static and around 50rpm at 60 mph indicated. Has anyone else ever tried this?

Yup... Did the same thing on my O-200... Got the same results as you did.

    How about some photos?

I have never been able to get my photos to resize and upload on to this site for some reason. My wife uploads stuff to facebook all the time with no problem though. I could e-mail you some pics and you could post them.
I forgot to mention that the crossover has dual gutted muffler cans. The 2-into-1 system had dual straight pipes and was rather loud. I did add about 2.5 lbs by putting the mufflers on but the noise reduction and increased heating capacity will be worth it to me.

Thanks for posting these for me Glenn, As everyone can see there are a couple of bends that aren't quite ideal but we didn't have the bender set up with the 1.5 inch tubing so I improvised and used what was on the shelf. My next step is to add some flanges to the ends of the muffler cans so that I can put some cabin heat shrouds on them. I have flown about 2 hours now and I am impressed with the improved power and the fact that I can actually hear the person in the back seat talking now!
As for power increase, it isn't "knock your socks off" but it is definently better, and the throttle response is MUCH better.

    Did your idle RPM increase?
Edit: I reread the original post! Forget the question.
