    Attitude Indicator/iPad

Does anybody have experience with the attitude indicator appfor iPad or iPhone? I’ve looked at the Air Board EFIS, iHUD, and a couple others but there appears to be varying degrees of satisfaction.
The end goal is to use the iPad for several different functions, and chime in if this is a blatantly bad idea, or if you have a better way of doing this. Long story short, I bought a helicopter that does not have an attitude indicator in it. (It’s got just about everything BUT an attitude indicator.) I’dlike an electronic attitude indicator (preferably an iPad due to screen clarity). I also intend to integrate the ipad with a FLIR thermal imaging camera that will be used for monitoring thermal activity.
The FLIR system I think I’ve got under control, but what are your opinions about the apps, for an attitude indicator?
    THANK YOU~

Have you looked at "classic gyro" app. also Wing x integrates an AHR-s to give you an attitude indicator (either full screen or half screen)

DPlunkt- Is this the app you are talking about?

When I did a search in the app store "classicgyro" didn't come up nor did a google search. Granted, this may be user error on my part as I'm somewhat new to apple processes.

    Thanks

If it is gravity-based, you would need to know that there is a smoothing function that duplicates what the old gyroscopes did. Probably could tell in an instant by watching what it does in a coordinated turn.

For some reason unknown to me, I can't get the attitude indicator working on Air Navigation Pro on my iPad---a really big artificial horizon with all the other magic working perfectly. The app is a $39 one-time cost. Aggravating with my old black-and-white 196 still doing its job!

King Brown- Your experience is exactly what I'm talking about. Some people have good luck with the operation, and others seem to be having nothing but problems be it what you're experiencing, or other errors in accelerated turns, etc. I don't intend on looking for IMC, of which I'm proficient, but if an instrument is giving erroneous information (and I need it), there could be dire problems.

The D-1 Pocket Panel would work, but I'd like to minimize cockpit clutter as much as possible.

I found one under a search for : airplane attitude indicator gyro.
if you hook it up to a wifi GPS it works ok. It has two modes one is land based and one is airplane mode. You can put it to use for your needs and you can calibrate it and "cage it" as well. It gives you the attitude indicator as well as GPS elevation. It is not FAA approved.
