Many, many thanks to the crew who helped me with the judging and safe completion of the exhibitions: Steve Lewis, Julie Johnson, Tom Constantine and Dave. They were terrific, despite the 90 degree + heat.

Jim did a terrific job handling the Howard Cosell Memorial Announcing job. Those golden vocal cords were really in rare form, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats...er...lawn chairs. Ron was very kind in providing the PA equipment, and we thank him.

Lastly, I want to thank the pilots and bombardiers who participated. You put up with my feeble newbie attempts at organizing these events and competed safely, in a courteous fashion and that is soooo important. The people of New Holstein who came out for the events reportedly had a great time. Thank you very much, too, for those who were willing to take some of the citizens of New Holstein for bombing runs. Your kindness demonstrated the commitment that supercub.org has to making the relationship between the organization and the wonderful town of New Holstein such a good one.

I think we learned a lot from this year's event, and I welcome suggestions that you may have to make these events even better next year. Thanks very, very much.

I had big fun hanging out with those of you who were there the first couple days and want to thank Steve and Laura for hosting another great fly-in. This truly is a wonderful gathering of friends!

Tim Martin was flying a Carbon cub.
Mike Mitchell was in a C-172 and he REALLY max performed that plane. Very well done.
Kase was, as usual, incredibly consistent. Oh,..... and he had a passenger in the plane too.
There was a lot of good flying by everyone.

Excellent points, Bill. Mike Mitchell gets every ounce of performance out of that C172...it was a treat to fly with him and see him perform. Tim really knows how to slow down that carbon cub, and Alan Kasemodel did a great job while letting someone sit in the back of a borrowed plane and share the experience. Shoot, Steve Johnson won the Spot Landing Exhibition in my supercub, having never flown it before! And then there is Eddie Doyle...wowser, what a fun pilot and aircraft to watch.I really appreciated the tone of the exhibitions. We are blessed, as Bill would say, with a number of terrific pilots.Randy

I am still upset about the flour bombing rule change. I had been practicing this with the rules that I had discussed with Randy in Arkansas. I get to New Holstein to find out that he had changed them on me

Shoot, Steve Johnson won the Spot Landing Exhibition in my supercub, having never flown it before!

In one attempt, I might add... I should have pointed the nose to North Dakota where you could land on either side of the line!

Randy, thanks for kicking this competition/exhibition up a couple notches this year. It really was fun and well organized!
