    Little Cub goes tubbing

I had to fix a leak in one of my floats. Iron Inge and I had no other help, plus we had to fix it over-night.
With no place available to beach her over-night,,, we used a big truck inner-tube.

Just inflate under one float and up she comes....

Solid idea Mate! Thank you for the information and pictures.

(I would carry plumbers underwater quick set epoxy on my cruising sailboat, never used it )

love that stuff!! that and a chunk of aluminum gooped on to cover bigger holes... make a great 'temporary' repair(that lasts for years if properly cleaned before sticking it on..)

I wanted to clean it properly first. It was just a minor seeping around two rivets back by the step.
Once she was above the water, we vacuumed it dry, cleaned it with some MEK and then used Glu-Vit.
While it was still soupy I used a shop vac on reverse to pressure the glu-vit next to the offending rivets. It has been four days now and no seeping....

For field fixes I carry a cylinder of the two part epoxy putty that works under water.

Plus a few heavy duty plastic bags. The kind Home Depot sells for construction clean-up.

After beaching and pumping out a flooded compartment, stuff the plastic bag inside and inflate it with your mouth. Then tie it off. The inflated bag will not let the compartment flood very far. Plus the bags are very handy for hauling Salmon, Dolly's and Trout...

Heavy duty rubbish bags are an excellent idea for emergency seaplane floatation. Thank you.

Rubbish bags are a great addition to a survival kit. With a little duct tape they can even make a survial suit.
