    Stabalizer Friction

Up until recently the trim on my Supercub has been very smooth and easy to adjust. At some point recently the trim now has quite a bit more friction when turning. Its not to the point that it is alarming but it takes a bit more pressure to rotate it. The movement on the stick still feels the same as it always has. Pulled apart the crank assembly to confirm that pulley was free and clear. The yoke and jack screw have plenty of lube. Scratching my head trying to come with ideas of what is causing this. Any suggestions?

When mine has become draggy in the past I've needed to lube the adjustment handle's shaft. In my case a little LPS made a big improvement.

Clean off the old grease on the jackscrew and spray with dry white lithium grease. Much smoother operation and attracts less grit to the moving parts.

Do you lube the rear Stabilizer Carry-through?

It pivots at this point & there should be an oil hole or zerk fitting there.

If it is an oil hole I suggest you start with a penetrating oil first.

    yup, like PoP said....

if you let it go too long it will crack the upper longerons under the rear stabilizer attach bracket...

also cleaning all the buildup of grease and grit from jack screw... (we don't put any lube on them.. that just creates grinding compound that wears them out faster...)

Good suggestions. I think a good cleaning of the jackscrew would be a good place to start.

Regarding the Carry-Though....Im assuming you are talking about the Link Assembly in drawing #40771. We have not recently lubed, but there is grease coming out the ends. Ill give that some TLC.
