Or it's like the same question you get at the grocery store... Paper or plastic! Don't think the plastic airplane would do well at 90ME though!!!

We are just playing it one day at a time. We will be here as several say they are still coming. Do not want anyone risking life and limb for a fly in. We will see what happens. Depending on which weather site and who u talk to it is going to be not bad to wet. Tonight

Yeah, I dropped by Sherman's and had to settle for a low pass. There were 3 deer in the first few hundred feet and another big one about half way down. None of them really moved much until I flew by, then took off into the woods. That might be a good spot to stop by in a few months

Hope things turn out , but heck lot bigger problems than this out there. If I was a drinking man I'd pour A Canadian club. Joking of course. Tom find a great weather report and we will go with that one.

It came with a 3 cyl Szekely and Brian flew it a few times with it but they shake like hell and are only about a 100 hr engine. Most of the ones flying today have a A65 or a C85 that make a real airplane out of them, the Zek was only 37 hp and was know for throwing cylinders so Brian put a C85 on it and at 550 lbs goes up pretty good. The controls are very light, so light that it feels like they're not hooked to anything. No trim but it's so light that it's not a problem. I may just fly off into the sunset and never give it back.

glen, you were born 50 years late. I often wonder what it would be like to live back then, seems like a simpler life. Looks like a few other antiques around. Have fun and be safe.

Scattered showers is all I see on the forecast. Getting stuck someplace for a few hours really isn't that bad. So many pilots skip great flyins just because of a scattered shower forecast! My concern is that I be able to get home on Sunday- Sunday looks to be a fine day - sure scattered showers - so what! Let's all go and have a fun time! No one is going to get stuck anyplace for long! I'll lead you home with my new Garmin GDL 39 weather data gadget if needed!

I'm going to try and get everything finished at work and head up tomorrow, but it's not looking good for me. I have an annual and three oil changes. Everyone is waiting until last min before the airport closes. Damn.

I told Tim that I would still buy if he would just fly over here and pick it up. Ask John to go up and do some acro for you guy's ( if his tanks not to full ) he's very good in that J3 and you guy's would enjoy it.

Getting hammered here right now, couple inches an hour, hail and a lot of lightning. Looks like it's heading for Tim's tent from here.

Just found out that my phone has severe weather alerts flash flood warnings, don't put your tent to close to the river. Still raining here and LOTS of lightning, Tim you got aluminum or fiberglass tent poles, it's coming your way.

I am finishing up an annual on a 172, and i have two oil changes at work tomorrow, and put a fuel shutoff valve in the champ and make sure it isnt leaking and try and get up tomorrow before it rains.

glad you guys made it up, the weather didnt look to nice.

I can confirm he is good at acro, we didn't even have to ask. He called and asked if we had a box, and I confirmed. All before he landed.

Got home last night and was checking the video surveillance and captured three planes and some shady looking characters checking the place out, It's really hard to disguise a blue and white 2+2 with a wooden prop, j-3 could be most anyone, couldn't tell what the third was but will be looking today. So the Authorities are out looking for Tim now. Rained or should I say poured for a couple of hours or maybe all night I will have to ask the tenters later. Will check in later this am. fog is starting to lift so hope to get some flying in if only local.

  39. #159
I'll be there for dinner. Hopefully I wont need the new talents of the Garmin GDL-39 I hooked up to dodge storm cells! It feeds to my Iphone - so far i'm very impressed with it! Free weather data - I love Free!
Tentatively leaving at 4pm today. Arrival by 5pm.
