Tom everyones been asking and I appreciate it. We usually just wing it. Go to the meat place Friday and the grocery store is close, we will get through. Hat to make long range buys in case of bad weather. Winging it has worked so far, bring a plane and an appetite.

Phil is right on, having done a bunch of flyins the last thing you buy is the food just in case the weather sucks. I got the cheese, if anybody has a favorite bring it. One of the things that make a flyin unique is the local food that everyone brings. Flyins are a lot of work for the airport host, if everyone brings a dish to pass it makes the flyin a great feast, don't forget to help fill the donation jar, you can't go out and camp and eat for 10 bucks a meal so keep the jar filled. Hell, Phils campfire stories are worth a pound of gold by themselves.

I'll coreograph the island job - 20 cubs water skiing around the island clockwise under the power line -i'll lead that one and 20 cubs above going counter clockwise. Then for the landing we can all pick a different row on the farm field and land all at once. I'll be checking out the brides maid first!

Tom, things are looking good. Rivers been weedwacked, fields been hayed and we will remow this weekend. Friends have brought a bunch of firewood. Steaks are on order. We are seeing if we can get a special deal for a big buy in lobster. I think we are fine, have quite a few say they are coming. Think we are all set. Bring good weather . Hope to see you all there.

Hey Phil, I am not sure if I will have my oil tank back from repairs before your fly in so I will possible have to “willyb” my way up there in my pickup truck. Either way my wife and I do plan on stopping by…… Even with the great prices on Lobsters right now, It is a lot of money for one guy to front for all the food for this event. What is your mailing address so I can send my donation in advance?

Larry we have plenty of truck parking too. We will probably pick up lobster Saturday right before dinner. So we will take orders a couple hours before hand. That way we know who wants them. Anyone got a real good connection on lobster? We think we have at least one good source, we are checking into.

We were thinking of doing clams along with dogs and burgers again Friday evening. The boys from new York didn't seen to like Maine clams.

Moutains to the Sea Double River Tour

One of this year's Saturday fly-outs starts with yet another fascinating, historical narrated tour of the Androscoggin River from Rumford to the Atlantic Ocean. We'll make a quick circuit and bump at Bowman's before proceeding to the coast via a fuel stop at Twitchell's for a flight over Brunswick, the Harpswells, the spectacular beaches of Popham and Reid State Park, then on to Boothbay Harbor. We'll time our arrival at Wiscasset (KIWI) in time to see the Texas Flying Legend Warbirds start up and depart for a local show. Then we're off again for an "up the Kennebec" portion of our tour, with a detour to buzz FMD's wedding event, to lovely Grignon's Field in Central Maine where we will enjoy a BBQ lunch at their fly-in. From there we'll hit Norridgewock OWK for cheap fuel before returning to the Rumford Area with an alternate excursion to Douten's spectacular strip before returning to Pzinck's in time for a swim before the festivities.

Yeah, wouldn't want you to get lost in the massive expanse of Northern New Hampshire. Here's a trick, fly north towards the big hill and listen for Tim and Dick on the radio. If the road signs are in French you crossed into Canada, do a 180. If the road signs have a moose on them, you're in Maine, turn left. If you see a lot of Subaru's and Volvo's on the road you're in VT, turn right. If someone flips you the bird check your compass because you went south and are in MA!!!

Not to confuse the issue here, but Heather's sister is interested in coming up for the flying on Saturday and was wondering if someone might have an empty seat. She doesn't weigh much, has a ppl and can't be scared, so would make a good back seater.

If we arn't going into any real tight airports I may have an open seat.
    Tom Ford

    Rene:

Those are some interesting seat covers in CM, how much do they cost? Tell Katy she can fly with me, no room for Adam though.

JP: Sat Wiscasset tour sounds good. I am trying to get my P51 ride I won that day. They have a couple fly arounds planned, so hoping it will happen. Interesting to note that the Portland Harley Hog group is having a bike in to Wiscasset on Sat 11 as well. Should be a big crowd, with some harley biker chicks that Tim can look at.

I hope the NH mountains tour includes a stop at Explorer Dick Sweeneys strip in the woods up north, where bra less coeds have been seen in past years. Good blueberries to pick as well.

I hope to come over Thurs evening, see you all there

Thanks for making room Jim. Katie will be solo for the weekend so no issues there.

I was joking about you guys and the clams. Last year some of the new York contingent didn't think these type of clams were going to be good, but ate lots of them. They were pleasantly surprised I guess. Shaping up to be a good turnout if everyone who says they are coming shows, hoping for a good time.

    Rene,

I'm flying up Friday noon from PYM---at least that is the plan. I should have room for gear or a warm body in the back seat. JP's flying itinerary will take 12 hours and a plane that trues out at 140 MPH! BTW JP----some guy walked up to my plane at NH and asked, " Do you know Jeff Russell?" Naturally my response was tentative because I didn't know if he was an angry husband, BF, or a cop. When I relented and advised him that indeed I was acquainted with Jeff Russell he responded by saying, " Now you have met the other Jeff Russell!" Who knew? Anyone that complains about Maine steamuhs or Ipswich steamuhs needs to have their head examined! Same drill for lobstah.

Thanks for the offer Tom, we're heading up Thursday evening though and should be all set. Everything will fit in the plane too except for my chairs that either Tim or FMD took back from PA.
