    Maine Fly Ins this weekend

Couple of great down home type fly ins this weekend coming up in Maine this coming weekend:

Sat July 7 Peasley Airfield, 0ME4 Otis Me
Always a great assortment of excellent grub at this one, downeast women really shine cooking for this one. Hope they have the seafood chowder again. A lot of taildraggers at this one.

Sun July 8 Spurwink Farm Airstrip, Cape Elizabeth, ME
A nice grass strip right on the ocean. I dont know the identifier. This is an EAA pancake breakfast. A nice old guy Phineas Sprague open up his hangar and property for this one. He will be puttering around with his cane, hes gotta be late 80s by now tell him thanks if you see him. Be careful at this one, the strip is kinda narrow, and if you are landing to the ocean, you touch down just feet from where people are stuffing in pancakes. I have never made a decent landing at this one. Lots of goofy ultralites and chutes as well with no radios watch out.

We are starting to get caught up with work, hope to turn avgas to noise and go to both, see you there

    Tom:

plenty long at spurwink, you wont have any trouble with the monster champ. Its kind hard to find sometimes, its right on the mouth of a small river where it emptys into the bay. Fly up OO Beach, cross pine point and its right there. Fog can be an issue early am, and its easy to bust the outer ring of Charlie space of PWM if you arent careful.
Is the greenland nh flyin at Sanderson Field? Went there once, seems like it is an ultralite fly in. Big ski slope hill on the S end?
Im slightly fuzzy at this point for Peasley on Sat, but planning for sure for Spurwink. Hope to see your new girl this weekend

I'll be at the Spurwink one. If you all coming down want to test your pilot abilities, land at my place - 54ME. I still think my landing strip is one of the more fun ones to land at in Maine. To find it just fly to KLEW - follow the turnpike south 5 miles - get over the new gloucester Turnpike Toll plaza - look back north and on the east side of the turnpike you will be looking right down my runway.
    i'll be watching for you.

Big boys dont cry. Is the vast swampland at Millers dry enough to fly this weekend? If i had floats I could land in the middle of my strip, and its raining right now. Im down to about 550 ft to work with. The misses got a little sweaty last weekend, must haved looked short to her. Good practice. See you at Peasley?

May try to show up at one of these flyins. Just got out of a towing contract that should give me more time off. Maybe even take a week off this year. Life is good. Hope to see you guys soon. Don't know why, but kinda miss you guys.

The last time you went to Peaslys Phil, for some reason I ended up with bushwheel tracks in the dust on top of my tractor cab, and Sue had to change her underpants. Hope to see you somewhere this weekend

Sorry - I was pre-occupied by the people in front of us - they thought your perfectly good slip was a bit scary. It was a good landing too!
