CAUTION: More Aircraft Vandalism at Anderson Lake Airstrip

I'm rather torqued right now. The attached photo shows the results of someone throwing a rock through the windshield of my C-185 sometime in the past couple days. It was parked inside the fence at Performance Airmotive and it appears someone has been chucking rocks (probably from a moving vehicle) over the fence at the aircraft parked closest to the road. In addition to the damage to my plane, it looks like the green Beaver on floats was also hit at least twice. We discovered the damage today when the plane was moved into the shop for an annual and to put it on floats.

I am aware of other vandalism in the area recently, including stealing fuel from a parked supercub.

The Alaska State troopers have been notified. I hope they catch the low-life *#$>!*'s who are doing this.

If you park at Anderson Lake, be sure to do a thorough pre-flight!

That sucks in sooo many ways.

I will pay for the whips if they catch the buggers...

Got some pictures from an insurance adjuster a while back of a newly covered J3 that some kids poked a pool cue through almost every surface. To bad someone didn't catch them and use that pool cue on them.

To heck with whips---they should be stoned just like in biblical days---big stones.

I know there is vandalism everywhere, but the valley is different. All the parents work in Anchorage and the kids know exactly when they will be back.
Welcome to Alaska! When you disembark the state, it is required that you leave both your daughters and your wallets, thank you!

    Rod,

Sure sorry to see what they did to your airplane. The use of video surveillance is a happening thing at Palmer. Several hangars have them to include my own. One nice place to hang one might be off the Leppings former hangar that Howdie now owns. It would be ironic if that hangar could be part of catching a thief rather than harboring one (talking Kurt not Howdie).

Good Luck to guys over there.

The best mod for any aircraft is more gas.

Get some Trail Cams and put them up around there. Get those culprits on video with a time stamp, 24 hours a day. Sucks...
