L21B plate between carb and air box

Anyone know what PN 73451-03 is (see picture attached)? Is it a gasket??? Is it a steel "plate"? Where can I get one? I called Univair they don't have that part number.

It's a stiffener/spacer plate. Never seen one on an airplane. Yes there is a paper gasket and that is all I have ever dealt with. May have been used with some air-boxes as a spacer due to stud length from carburetor. If your air-box bolts up with out the studs hitting the top of the air-box then don't worry about it. Hardly any of these things are "Like Factory" anymore. Some air-box studs are coarse thread and some are fine thread. There are long and short ones too.

Is this part serial number specific? The Tri-Pacer has a spacer like this. I will have to look up my notes and a thread on ShortWingPipers.org. From memory though it was the difference in two different airboxes that piper made, the difference was the legth of the airbox neck. I will get the specifics and post.

Doesn't seem to be serial number specific---just says "1 per airplane for "150"" The airplane we are working on is a "150".

Vellumoid is a type of gasket material. It is used for the gasket between the tail wheel halves and the friction washers on the throttles.
