You guys will have the pizza ready when we get there? I'm sure Tim has room for beer, I mean he is flying a four place plane...

I look for Spotted Cow as soon as I get there

The Rules Committee is currently behind closed doors, contemplating how best to manage the bunch of yahoos who will be competing in ..the Short Field Landing Exhibition, the Spot Landing Exhibition and the (in)famous Flour Bombing Exhibition.
We anticipate the Rules of Engagement to be published here and on the New Holstein thread sometime tomorrow (Thursday).
Randy
Who are you consulting with, the DNC? Tim's on that committee and that will be a conflict of interest. Go by Okie rules, which I can't think of any that fit those situations. My AME's, the Cajuns, say my shoulder is good to go. See you on Wed.
Rules?
points double for each flour sack that lands on blue scrubs!
You folks all have fun. I will tip a cold one in your honor, and make sure that Mr. BigE takes care of that shoulder so he can come catch fish up here!
Cowfly!
I don't know where you've been me lad, but I see you won first Prize!
Will there be hot water for tea with breakfast?
Thanks, Anne.
Baloney is still baloney, no matter how thin you slice it.
Thanks.........I think.........?
Anne.
Baloney is still baloney, no matter how thin you slice it.
Remember that if you show up before Sunday around noon, your camp may be subject to being moved. If we get some folks around on Saturday we might be able to lay out the camping areas then, but normally that is a Sunday project..
Having said that, does anyone remember the distances we use... ?

I too enjoy my morning cup of hot tea. I use a Jetboil. There will be plenty of bottled water at the pavilion. You will need your cup, Jetboil, and tea. They have sugar if you are so inclined but finding something to stir with can be a challenge. See you there.
Bill
Very Blessed.
FLY OUT UPDATE: FRIDAY JULY 27th, IOLA, CENTRAL COUNTY FLYERS
I just spoke with Bill Kinsman in Iola. He informed me that he was buying 100 lbs of the best steak he could find....plan on eating at least 1/2 lb each! (some chicken will be avail as well). All food will be grilled to order. As a reminder, the Chairman of the NTSB, Deborah Hersman will be making a special trip to lunch with us ( heard she wants to meet ToolTimeTim). I expect the Green Bay TV stations will cover the event also.
FOLKS, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!
If you haven't already done so, please go here to download the Fly Out Briefing Guide: http://www.supercub.org/NewHolstein/8d1flyouts2012.htm
There will be limited copies available at the briefings.
See you all in a few days,
Lou
I'm pleased to report that the mosquito count in NH is way down this year. It was bad a few weeks ago, but the dry and heat has mostly knocked them out. We're cool today (in the 60's) but it'll be back in the low 90's by Saturday. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Rules of Engagement for the World Supercub.org Flour Bombing Exhibition
Here they are...
2012 New Holstein Flour Bombing Exhibition
Objectives:
1. To be safe…keep traffic in sight, maintaining safe separation.
2. Precision Bombing of the target from NOT LESS THAN 100 feet AGL (that will be 1100 feet at 8D1)
3. The winning Bomber crew will be the one whose flour bomb strikes the ground CLOSEST to the target.
4. BE SAFE!
5. Have Fun
Rules of Engagement:
1. Participants must attend the Pre-Exhibition Briefing, to be held at the Pavilion at 1:30 pm
2. Each Bomber crew, consisting of a pilot and a bombardier, will receive an equal number of bombs (2 or 3, depending upon the number of crews participating)
3. Bombing crews will be assigned to Squadrons, each consisting of 3 or 4 aircraft.
4. Squadrons will be launched in assigned series, to be arranged at the Briefing.
5. Upon takeoff, all members of the squadron will follow the flight leader.
6. Altimeters shall be set to current setting before departure.
7. All bombing runs must be at 1100 ft (100 feet AGL). Set your altimeters before takeoff to facilitate nailing that altitude at precisely 100 ft AGL. If you drop bombs from less than 100 feet AGL you will be disqualified, discredited and forced to eat baked chicken.
8. Members of each squadron shall space themselves so as to make this a SAFE EVENT, keeping situational awareness foremost in our minds. It is better to have too much spacing than too little!
9. After dropping your bomb, climb straight ahead to 500 feet agl before turning crosswind, make left traffic and enter a downwind leg so as to maintain traffic separation, preparing for the next bomb drop.
10. After each squadron has completed all bombing runs, please return to land, doing so well away from the bombing area.
11. All aircraft will monitor CTAF 123.0 for directions.
12. The decisions of the judges are final. No Whining…we will not be calling the Wahhhmbulance
Please attend the briefing, as changes to these may be forthcoming.

2012 New Holstein Short Field Landing Exhibition
Objectives:
1. To be Safe…keep traffic in sight, maintaining safe separation.
2. The main objective is to touch down and bring your aircraft to a stop safely in the shortest distance, without endangering yourself, your squadron or the crowd.
3. Have FunJ
Rules of Engagement:
1. Participants must attend the Pre-Exhibition Briefing, to be held at the Pavilion at 1:30 pm
2. Pilots and their aircraft will be assigned to squadrons, each consisting of 3 or 4 aircraft.
3. Altimeters shall be set to ZERO AGL before departure.

8. If you touch down short of the marked line your run is disqualified (DQ’d).
9. The distance at which a complete stop is reached will be measured by the highly trained, professional staff

11. In the final run, members of the squadron will taxi to a safe area as a group and await the next event.

Just met my second tow truck driver this week. I am SO ready to hang out with pilots![]()
Thanks for the info, Bill. I just got a JetBoil, but haven't used it yet. A few years ago Gunny heated up some water for me with his JetBoil, and it was fast! I'll bring lots of tea, for those who would like a change from their morning mud, uh, coffee.
Randy, way too complicated for me. I'll just watch.
Anne.

Well, Lou Furlong led a contingent of supercubbers up the East coast of Lake Michigan. I met Lou, Steve Lewis, Mike Mitchell, Rick Papp and John Jackson at 83D just off Mackinac Island this afternoon. We had a good dinner, solved many of the world's problems and are holing up inside the FBO, thanks to the gracious hosts there. We will be heading out in the morning, taking in some sights along the southern shore of Lake Superior, then down to NH!
A remarkable group of people you have assembled, SJ. What a treat. See you tomorrow.

SJ.... give us a mosquito report? Tim, being the sensitive person he is, does not like to harm any small creatures. So if there aren't many mosquitoes, he might show up.....
About this three point landing... er, I don't ever leave my tail on the ground after touchdown... too hard on the little tire back there...
And on the spot landing, can the tires touch the line and not be DQed? I know I am a DQ anyway, but just asking. Also, is that the main gear after the line, or all three?
How about Eaton, are you letting him fly? Seems he should be used as a judge, knowing his fine ethical approach to life would make him the proper choice!
You all have fun down there, wish I was with you all. Maybe some day I will be released from the gates of employment...
I don't know where you've been me lad, but I see you won first Prize!
Are the feathers mature enough on that bird to ensure flight better than the cow did?
So pictures????
Ought to be at least ONE of Mr. Eaton with an apple in his mouth by now!
