Check out the Green Bay sectional map there is a sea plane base at the northern tip of little bay de noc on lake Michigan called Ness Landing (3MI9), base belongs to my Brother, if you call ahead he will arrange for 100LL for you, he picks it up at the Delta county airport and transports it in a 88 gal tidy tank to his house on the Bay, he has a dock and a ramp and I am sure he would be happy to accommodate you.

Too Funny, Jerry sure keeps that J-3 in show condition at all times, he Laughed at your post and says he hopes to see you at Otsego this year, hope to get there myself even if only as a spectator.

I did it 5 years ago in a J4/1320. Watch out for the wake from the ore/grain boats at sky Harbor http://skyvector.com/airport/DYT/Sky-Harbor-Airport
Shawano has gas but you have to fill cans 100 yds away but has a great place to eat across from the airport http://skyvector.com/airport/EZS/Sha...icipal-Airport
Clements has a ramp on south end of runway, it's in the Saganaw River so watch out for floating junk, they will lend you the airport truck to go eat in town a few miles away. http://skyvector.com/airport/3CM/Jam...icipal-Airport
Don't count on landing on any open water on the great lakes if the wind is blowing 10+ unless you can hide behind something. Lake Erie looks like the North Sea if a strong SW wind is blowing. Take pix and keep us posted of you progress.
