Kase, Phil, and I got out early and got up high headed east. Ground speeds up to 165 mph in the cubs..... so, this is what it is like to fly in a RV8. Very smooth until I got home to Winifred and had to land in the gusts... basically landed in the big hanger. Great to see you all... Thanks so much Dave. R
To go up...pull stick back. To go down...pull stick all the way back!

Took me 4hrs including the fuel stop at ThreeForks. Good tailwind. Thanks to Dave Kirsten for all his work in heading this up. Thanks to Windy to for all your time selling shirts and raffle tickets. Always nice to visit with friends and make some new ones.

Got home this morning around 9:45A local. Had a great time at JC! Enjoyed visiting with friends. Lots of great flying and fun. Thanks to all for putting on a great event!
I lit out right before Kase, Phil, and Ralph, went south for a while and then headed direct to Riverton, WY. Total flying time home 6.8 hours for 1190 SM. I did the last 760 miles in one 4.3 hour leg. Just one fuel stop, but I could not have gone too much further when I got home. Top speed I saw was 224mph right before I went through some really crazy wind shear near the Tetons. Long story, but all is well.
Thanks Dave and crew for putting on another great event. Thanks to everyone who attended for being good stewards of the areas. I'm glad everyone "walked away" this weekend, we really don't need the thrills!
It was really squeezing this in to go this year, but I am really glad I did. It is great to hang around with so many exceptional people.

So how about a report on that new super duper carbon cub?

Very cool Pawnee. Call it Lowbushwacker.org. It was one unique plane and owner. We saw him at some tough not to be named strips. He was gettin it.

I sure had a terrific time introducing the newly finished cub to the back country. With Winifred, billings and JC, we did lots of back country, canyon, and mountain flying and having a great time. My thanks to all. Especially Ralph, Gizmo, Dave K, Kase, Philly Boys, Jim R, Jason G, DW and Christian S. all contributed greatly to a fun time.
What great weather.
Congrats to Bushwheel Lou who finally won something.
Looking forward to next time.

This has been a long and very bumpy flight home.. I took a nap at Winnemucca because I was so beaten up. Right now the GPS shows 1:20 to lodi. I doubt I'll get any pictures posted until tomorrow. It was a great to see everyone and we enjoyed some great weather. Thanks to all who contributed and participated.. I'll get some photos up in the morning.

Got home around 3:00 Sunday head winds all the way, right as I got to the Cascades I saw 45 mph on the GPS birds were flying by me. Thanks Dave! as always a great time see ya all next year or sooner.

Had a great time, Thanks Dave, Wendy and all, what a job to put somthing like this together. Thanks to all the sponsors, the food was really good both nights. While some saw blazing fast speeds home going west was not good. We were down to 45kt GS over the cascades at 11,000 ft and in mountain wave pushing down hard but made it fine. Again Thanks .
