    Largest DC-3 flying fleet

    Hi friends,

sorry, no cubs in this post.
found this today in the Washington Post:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...z6R_story.html

The story has been documented before but a guy in the article says that Colombia has the largest DC-3 flying fleet, more than Alaska?

He has a nice web site:

    http://www.dakotahunter.org/

    Check out his blog, cool!

Steve, you are right, there is also oil (lots of it, Colombia is producing almost 1 million barrels a day) and Villavicencio (main city in the region) is growing very fast, roads are being paved. I believe the DC-3s will disappear in 2-3 years as new airports and roads are built by oil companies. Coca? I´m no politician but I´m sure it has done a lot of damage to general aviation and at the same time has kept this region underdeveloped as guerrillas and paramilitaries do their part.
