Anyone have any suggestions as to how best replace the 2 brass bushes in each end of the front stabiliser carry through tube (Trim cross tube)? Iv tried 'lightly' drifting them but they wont move. I Cant drift too agressively for fear of crushing the tube in the vice or bending the attachment lugs. Next option is a bit of heat but thought Id check with the experts before going much further...?

I think you miss read his question.... He is trying to replace the bushings in the "Carry through" tube mounted on the jack screw....

I don't have an answer for you on that one.... Never seen one bad enough to warrant replacing.

but split/slit brass bushing with hacksaw and it will come right out
I have never replaced those bushings, but heat would be a last resort for me. The dimensions will change if heated to red hot, and would probably be hard to restore.
