Tom I had a PA-28 and believe there were only two control wheel styles. The original bowtie shape and the later replacement ram's horn style. But the early PA-28 has a smaller shaft diameter than the later ones. Both style wheels could be either large or small shaft. That was 30 years ago so part numbers I can't help with.

im just trying to figure it out, because there is an AD associated with that P/N. This pa-28 has the "later" ram horn style.
What have you been up to lately? been doing any flying?

There are 2 AD's on PA-28 control wheels that I know of. One for the pin for holding the wheel to the shaft and one for the pin holding the U-joint/sprocket to the shaft.

Tom I think the control wheel AD was for the old bowtie style that's why I replaced mine with the rams horn type.
Yes I have been flying.I spent Sunday on skis but the runway is bare again so back on wheels.
