Left Horizontal Sliding Window - J3

I am installing a left sliding window in my J3. Since it is a Supercub style window, and the guys at the J3 site will yell at me for changing it from the original I thought I would ask here.

Can anyone post some photos on how this is supposed to be welded in the fuselage? The problem I am having is with the upper slider. I assume the reason is that a supercub has a tube for the upper channel to weld to and the J3 just has the channel. Should I be able to just fab it to work or is there a recommendation or a work around to use the PA-18 upper slide.

    Thanks

I had a Super Cub window flip in to my lap on a 180 seaplane Cub. It was apparently designed to be held with three #6 sheet metal screws, but they left off two of them. A couple of experiences like that make you a believer in that spiral air flow they taught us in student pilot 101.

When I was younger I wanted the sliding window. I now know it makes little difference in back seat comfort.

Grant, We are going to do the same in Nesin's PA11, same structure. Will post as we go.

Did this in a PA11 a few years ago. Got a field approval for it. Got all the parts from Univair. Will see if I have any pics.

Here is the back page of my 337 when I installed mine.
Kind of difficult to see some of the pieces installed.
I may have some better pics of it, I'll post them if I do.

Grant I did the sliding window to my pa11 and if I had it to do it all over again I would make the left side flip up like the top half of the door on the right side.
