Wilkins-Eielson Stories or pictures?

Do any of you Alaska guys have any hand me down stories or pictures of these 2 when they flew from Alaska to Europe via the North pole in the 1920s. Some articles ive read still say this is one of the greatest bush flights ever. just because when in time they did it, with the equipment they did it with and the route they went. doug

Theres a book out called Bushpilots of the 20's and 30's...I read it recently and loved it...all kinds of cool stories about Eielson...I'll give you more info if I can find the book but I'm assuming a simple amazon search will turn it up....tan cover with a few b/w pics on the front...

Come over this way, and visit Hattan, ND. The Eielson Museum is there, in Carl Ben Eielson's original home. Last time we were there, his niece gave us the tour of the place. They may have the answers to your questions. But, in any case, it's worth the visit.

Is this the same Eielson that built one of the first snowmobiles, I motor tobogan with a Indian motorcycle engine for power?

There is a good book about Eielson called "Polar Pilot" written by Dorothy Page. It's out of print but you can probably find some used copies on Amazon.
