    Wing tips PIPER PA 14

hello all, we want to improve performance for banner towing.
we need photos, drawings or instructions to install Madras wing tips and vg.
    need to add a rib?
or should we remove the last rib small, now the plane is 100% original with 150hp and borer prop.
    All your opinions are welcome.
    thank you very much!
    kind regards

Madras droop tip do not really add any wing area, the spar is cut off where it starts to taper, but the droop does direct air over the aileron at slow speed rather than allowing it to spill off the end of the tip. Ailerons are still very effective. Sullivan tips install a plate in between spar caps after you bend them up. They also provide more wing area.

Are there any other light-weight wingtip options that extend the ailerons and wing area but don't interfere with visibility?

Wasn't there "Ferguson" fiberglass tips at one point available.

    What does Cubcrafters use?

    ..
    sullivan like mentioned,

and Dakota tips, not sure on STC for those, always field approved them as substitution for sullivans(same basic shape, but smaller & lighter)

or just squared off with no tip....

day and night I 'think' has STC for extending ailerons. (same guy sells this stuff Ron Sullivan)

Yes. Ferguson Plane Boosters, McAllen Texas. I installed a set on a Champion 7GCB and had a kit for a PA-18, didn't install it, can't remember where it went. As I recall the spar caps were straightened out with a web riveted in as an extension of the spar web out to the tip. Then a full sized rib was attached to the tip with the droop tips attached to the new tip rib. This gave a full thickness/chord to the tip thereby increasing the wing area and aspect ratio a little bit. The span was increased by the dimension of the tip. I think that it was nearly 2 feet total. The installation on the 7GCB was a tremendous improvement with a lot lower stall speeds and higher climb rate. The aileron response was also greatly improved. The droop does obscure the close in vision a little bit but the advantages far outweigh this disadvantage.

There also used to be, or still is, an extended squared off tip without the droop that was made by someone in the Anchorage area. I can't remember his name. I'm sure someone here can tell us who that is. Similar installation as the Ferguson's. It was very popular during the 1980s.
