Sorry I missed the fly-in this year. Wife scheduled our Fantasy Field Fly-In on the same day. Next year though, I WILL BE THERE! I'll bring my tricycle (172) and see what happens. Kelly

Does anyone know what date next year's (2012) will be held on???
We just arrived home (by van) at 4 p.m. this morning. What a beautiful trip we had to the majestic Northwest! We stayed with Jerry and Becky Burr both Friday and Saturday night and attended the NW fly-in all day Saturday. The museum (a must see...beautiful restored planes of all kinds) and airport facilities at Concrete are first rate. We met up with old friends (DW, Jason, Jerry/Becky, et al) and met many new ones. Eddie learned a lot from his many discussions! We would encourage all tail dragger folks to put this one on your calendar...but, I must say, I REALLY enjoyed seeing all of the mountain scenery from the window of the van! This is BEAUTIFUL country!

I have wanted to attend this fly-in for years, but somehow our BCP fly-in got scheduled the same weekend and has remained that way. Glad everyone had a good time.
Eddie caught my error! We got home at 4 A.M.! ...and as I was carrying a few things into the house, I realized that he had gone straight to the computer and was catching up with Supercub.org! We know where his priorities are!

P.S. And many thanks to Bill Ingerson for all his work at the fly-in!
There was some discussion about changing the date for the Johnson Creek 2012 event but it did not happen and will be held June 14th through 17th.

Flower bomb drop contest? This sounds very interesting. Can anyone explain what it is? Do you drop flowers from an airplane? This would be fantastic. I can imagine that raining flowers looks fantastic. Would love to join it and I think it would be great to have flower delivery promotion code in order to get all the flowers.
We are planning to have the best N.W. SuperCub Flyin for 2012 that we can. Any help is greatly appreaciated. It sounds like a flower bombing contest is a must so Chad or anyone wanting to help in that area that would be great. Johnson Creek will be in June 14- June 17th as stated on the 2012 Calinder. For some reason the N.W. SuperCub event did not get in the Calinder for 2012 ( probably my fault ) But we are going to have it as always the last weekend of June. I would think the best time would be June 29th (fri) 30th (sat) and Break camp up on Sunday the July 1st. If anybody thinks we should bump it up to the 22nd 23rd and 24th let us know, might be easier for the Johnson Creek pilots to come over to Washington State.
We will keep this flyin going year after year and would like any input to make it better for everyone. I hope alot of pilots and guests can make it this year, Its one of the nicest facility I have been too for a flyin. We will keep everyone informed as it gets closer. Thanks for your time

If I had to pick one plane, it would be the Super Cub. Im going to build one and try to find a 180 to put in it. I will need your help. Thanks

They won't mind if we bomb the flowers will they?
I am and have always been against flower bombing. Unfortunately, I think a couple of my flour bombs may have ended up in someone's flowers.
I am assuming it is safe to post the date for the FANTASY FIELD FLY-IN 2012 now??? Let's see...JC on June 14-17, Concrete on June 22-24, and that leaves the best for last....FANTASY FIELD (FA99) on June 30th! Yeehaw, let the summer-time begin!!!

No 2012 Fantasy Field Fly-in. Sad.
Weather permitting we will be able to use the Concrete airport again this year. Planes can come in on Friday and camp. On Sat. we can have practice until noon then a short take off and landing compition for the grand prize The SuperCup Trophey. D.W. of Oregon has held the cup for one full year winning it last year.
At the end of Sat. its just more camping and talking to old and new friends. Sunday, its time to bail out and go home.
Some things have changed such as food, bring your own, we don't think that Concrete will supply any burgers this year, but then again they might.
Normally, I would be pushing this flyin very hard and making plans 6 months ahead of time, but times have changed and for the worse' as far as flyins go.
Like alot of people I really look forward to flyins and the excitment, its fun for everyone. But something happened last year that really scares us, and the town of Concrete. During Concretes anual flyin a Attorney had to park on the south side of the landing strip. From what I was told he had a fit over that and told the City they are responsable for anyone getting hit and injured by a plane while walking across the runway, really raised alot of attention to the possibility of big law suits.
The city of Concrete has told us to go ahead and have the flyin on June 21, 22, and 23 rd and also said we are not covered under there insurence plan, we are on our own. So the bottom line is if there is a accident who ever is in charge of the flyin or part of it is liable, then they will go after the city as well if the attorneys can not get a big enough settlement. Kinda like Arlington Wash. experienced a few years ago by a guy killing himself in his R.V. his wife and attorney was awarded $10, million its probably still in court yet.
I am curious what other flyins are doing in this reguard ? This could be our last time there unless things get worked out where we are protected.

After posting this notice, I was notified by one of the flyin member's that we are now covered by the city of Concrete on there insurance policey thats good new's.
And new new's to me. I want to make it clear that I have nothing to do with the N.W SuperCub flyin and will not attend.

I checked with Jack Mear's at Concrete to see if there is any insurance on the SuperCub fly in and again he said no but check with Jim Jenkins he is incharge of trying to get us covered. When I called Jim he did not know the dates so I told him June 21, 22nd and 23rd. He said he would try to get us covered under there Umbrella policey. So it looks like we are covered, It would be nice to see it in writting. Lawyer's like that part, if its not in writting it didn't happen.
Sorry if I affended anyone about this posting, It's something we have to be carefull of, My name is out there right in front for all the public to see and I would be the first one a attorney would call if there is a accident.
This is a group effort to put this on and we all have a great time. Hope alot of cubs and people come and have a good time. Bring your own food this year

I've been hearing lots of chatter and it seems people are getting excited and will be showing up next weekend regardless. Concrete is one of the most scenic airports in WA and its great to see what's new at the museum. I'm looking forward to a great time.

For those that don't want to pack their own grub along, there is a good place to eat just up the road from the airport. Cascade Burgers is about a 1/4 mile north of the airport & is open from 11am til 7 or 8 in the evening. Not gourmet fare but good burgers etc. There is also a pizza place about a mile west on hwy 20 (annies?) and I understand they will deliver. I think they have a flyer pinned up in the pilot house.
From another site:

Also highly recommend Annie's Pizza. Really good pie, they've won some regional awards. They will deliver to the pilot shack.

Flew to Concrete for lunch today, there's a Cascade Burger menu pinned up but no pizza menu. So FWIW:
Annie's Pizza Station 360-853-7227
Cascade Burger 360-853-7580
I read on another site that the Concrete Fly In (June 22-24) is postponed due to weather - I do not have any official confirmation...does anyone know for sure?
The Concrete Fly In ship has no rudder or Captain, but a lot of the crew are making other plans. Maybe a Captain will be appointed/elected/forced into it and a new date established.
The forecast looks pretty wet and icky.
Oil is changed tanks are full and I'm in a holding pattern till I get clearance.
