Ok folks, the poll showed something less formal this year, or the Fancy Moose, so we are going to do both!

The plan as it stands it to have a come and go informal gathering in the Turnagain Room of the Millennium Hotel at around 6:19pm on Saturday for a couple hours. Then if you are still wanting to hang out, we can wander downstairs to the Fancy Moose.

We plan on having some appetisers and a cash bar. No drawn out drawings, paper airplane contests, or upside down Texas flags this year, just a time to hang around, have a cold one if you like, and catch up in a relaxed atmosphere.

If I can get my schedule to work I plan to be there by Sat. PM and look forward to getting together. Think I may be in the same boat as aktango58 as far as accomodations go. Am I safe to assume I can find space to tie-down at the Lake Hood strip and walk over? I'll be on wheels and would prefer to get close as I hadn't planned on a car. Always enjoy the bar at the Millenium eating Hallibut and watching the action at Lake Hood. The two other S/C's I had planned to bring with me (father &son) just bailed on me tonight as their schedules took a turn for the worst and some other issues popped up so I'll either hook-up with someone else on the way up or show up solo. Either way I'm sure I'll have a large time.

Tal and I are panning on leaving Texas around the 20th in his SC. Idea is to get there for the show weather permitting.

    Guess I better update...

A young lad here that works for me doing odd jobs, like washing my plane, is seriously bitten by aviation. He is with CAP, and goes all over to take glider lessons and any other flying opportunity. At 17, he is the same age I was when I started flying.

He has shown a desire to go north to the big show with me, meaning I may have to take the small tent, and deal with a young one for a few days if I take him. So, I have decided that his new knick name will be "otto".

This means I have confirmed two for Saturday. We will depart AFTER the ruler of Graham TX departs next week and head for Anchorage. Leaving Juneau Thursday evening for steelhead fishing, and continuing to anchorage on friday. We may leave friday and get to Anchorage on Saturday.... or if bad weather head interior and fly with the boys...

So if any of you need a plane washed in Anchorage, I have a rider that will trade work for flight time; he is skinny and willing to starve to fly!!!

Maybe in a few years he will have a plane to fly me back from Texas!!!!

If anyone needs a lift (of the automobile type) once in town, drop a PM and let me know. SWMBO hasn't told me what I'm doing Saturday night yet, but giving someone a ride to/from the Millenium might just be enough to get me a hall pass for the evening.

Alaska weather looking good for the weekend folks!

Looking like Juneau and anchorage will be clear thursday into the weekend, which often means the entire coast will be a nice flight.

My plan is to stop for fishing, maybe plant potatos at my cabin enroute.

Let me know if you are coming this way

I plan to leave Spearfish, SD tomorow morning and be there for the Airmen's show on Sat. Under the circumstances, I'll definately need a ride back to the Millenium especially if that would enable a "Hall Pass" as I understand how difficult these can be to obtain. Pray for good weather and I'll see you all at the show.
