Temps hit 50 degrees this weekend. Found some fish, coyotes and adult beverages. Was almost too warm for the sleds.. No shoveling metal roofs after sunday.

Riding at 50*? We have at least two months before we'll have a chance at that. Does that mean your season is ending?
Only 30 degrees warmer here. That makes it -10 on this day. Really good riding!

We all had multiple opportunities for cussing and grunting while pulling sleds out. There's a lot of snow up the Yentna Valley. For all the effort we put in we were humbled when we came across a stuck 185 on Alexander Lake. He eventually got out but not without considerable effort and while I didn't speak with the pilot I have no doubt he had plenty of stress and frustration for one day. We tried to pack a pad for him but it was a struggle to get the plane to move, let alone move where he wanted it to go. Yes, there's overflow under all that snow. Been there, done that.

Stewart, that shot of the 185 brings back bad memories. The only think worse than having a snowmobile stuck in overflow (called slush her in MN) is having a plane on skis stuck in overflow. We still have plenty of snow left here in northern MN. Be snowmobiling for at least another month, probably close to two. Here in Cook it was minus 34 on Thursday and plus 43 on Sunday. 77 degree swing. We hadn't broke freezing point since early December. It was beautiful. Eric, those walleye fillet pictures remind me of the great food pictures David J. used to post. Looks like you had a great day. Russ
Yes it was a day to remember for sure. Especially cause guiding a group of sleds from southern MN over 60 miles off trail and not seeing another sno-go. The stuck Cessna looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. Snowmobiles can be tossed around with a few people, the Skywagon is a can of worms, no thanks. Credit at least given for the fellow getting out and flying/
