    Looking for Pictures

I am restoring a L18-C and would appreciate any interior pictures of the original configuration of the original plane. My plane was built on 3/22/52 and has a manufacture number 18-15637.

I know this plane is the same, or very similar, to the Pa18-95.

Especially looking for pictures of an instrument panel.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would contact Mark Krier in Kansas. He restored a beautiful PA18-95 and had it advertised on Barnstormers with a lot of pictures.

Thanks again. Took me awhile but I think I found him on a web site. I will call him tomorrow.

I did a quick search of Google Images and found hundreds of photos. No doubt you already tried it but if not here is the link.

Also the below search yields numerous Google Picasa albums that refer to Piper L-18C

Type the following: Piper L18C site:google.com

Thank you for the reply. There is one pic in your link that may be exactly what I am looking for.

I have decided to restore this plane, as close to the original configuration as possible but original interior pictures have proved to be difficult to find. I have several pictures that I have downloaded but most planes have been modified so much that the originals are difficult to identify. When I bought this project, it came with two instrument panels and I do not believe that either one is original.

One person that seems to know much about this, told me that the original panel was flat. Another person insists that the panel was curved like a J-3. I have pictures of it both ways and I am thinking the flat panels were newer modifications.

    Thanks for you help

Here's a stock L-18 that I received my float rating in. Rounded panel.

    Rory's PA-18-95 also has a rounded panel.

Excellent. That should do it. I expect the Cub Dr. can duplicate this.

    Thank you very much.

I received this reply from Clyde Smith.

"The L-18C was a military PA-18-90 and has that curved panel across the top. The L-21 aircraft had the flat panel.

    Dave,

Thanks again. I expect to be in Clyde's next advanced class in the Spring in Lock Haven. Went to the basic class a few weeks ago and learned more in three days than in the past year.
