    Winter ski pics

With Torch's inspiration I was hoping to start a picture thread of your favorite winter ski pics from around the country and the world.

With the late November rains here the probability of an early solid freeze up is just not going to happen.

late spring lunch stop at Lake George, AK near Knik Glacier.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

And to Family, Friends, our Dedicated Military and their Families and of course the Wright Brothers...Thank you!!!

    If it looks rough...it is!!

Those are great shots. I'm amazed at how pretty Alaska truly is.

How do you know how deep the snow is when landing? How do you prevent from hitting soft snow? Are there certain things to look for before landing? I'm from the desert in CA and don't see conditions like this.

Wish I had a picture of last year when I landed in a field combined with a stripper head.
Was to busy cussing and busting snow that was waist deep I guess.

A friend who lived in Alaska for a while told me that the winters will drive you crazy unless you "embrace" it for it's own beauty. These pictures explain what he was saying perfectly. You guys make this look more inviting than most any beach pictures in the summer ......... unless there are Cubs on floats maybe. That white stuff sure looks fun, thanks for sharing.
