    Thanks Steve, does the short bit of the fairing use the same screws as the false spar, and does the curved bit of the fairing actually rub on the leading edge of the flap?

    My (non-mechanic and non-professional) advise is to go to the hardware store and find some stick on door seal that fills the gap in lower side of the aileron and see if you like it. Ive seen lots of cubs flying around with it. Must do something.

    No, should not contact. Close but no rub. Mike has a good suggestion for making the gap. Here is a picture the float plane I have been working on for the last 6 weeks. They didn't have a clue what they were doing.

    I had a bit of rubbing on a flap gap seal once. I put some uhmw tape on the flap, solved the problem
