Is anybody using a constant speed prop on a O 200

woodcomp propeller??

vesta propeller??

GT propellers ???

aerotek 2000 ???

MT propeller ???

any info of experience of these prop would be appreciated

2 blade or 3 blade with revers???

Guys use the Aero-Matic. Not a controllable constant speed but close. Check the cessna 120-140 forum. Some of those guys are using them if i remember right.

I have new aeromatic on my pa18-95 and like it. Go to www. aeromatiic.com for more info.

Ivoprop makes an electrically operated controllable prop (2 or 3 blade) but not approved for certificated airplanes as far as I know. I've heard MT makes or will be making an electrcially controllable prop also.

Could you share with us any performance data? Do you have a much higher cruise speed? Any improvement in fuel economy? What about take off distance and climb?

aeromatic prop

I call ivo for a continental O 200 prop

the prop that they sell was 68'' 2 blade Magnum

68'' 2 blade is not good for floats

i will be ordering a aeromatic prop this winter and i will post the performance information.

I will retrieve my speed data from hangar today and post tonight. I had a mac7147 cruise prop before the aeromatic. My TC specifies max length of 73" for the aeromatic and i bought a F200-73 from Tarver Propellers. As i recall the cruise speeds are about the same but now the RPM's, out of the shoot, are 2620 instead of the 2390 that i got with the mac and that was what i was after because at gross wt. on an 85 degree day the 95hp needs all the boost it can get.

aeromatic prop

engine continental o 200 zenith 701 on floats

macc 71/ 46 2300 rpm 402 lbs of trust

macc 71 42 2460 rpm 439 lbs of trust

warp drive 70'' 3 blade 6 degrees at tip 2480 rpm 461 lbs of trust

all test were done same day with a digital tack and a digital scale

macc 71/46 prop is 70''
macc 71/42 prop is 71'' 1/4

macc 71/42 is 10 ++ mph faster then the warp drive at that pitch setting
macc 71/ 42 rates of climb is 450 ft per Minuit at 45 mph
warp drive 3 blade 70'' rates of climb 700 ++ ft per Minuit at 45 mph

HAve you researched the vesta very much??? What made you decide on the prop you used?? I am also in the market for a composite 3 blade for a helio on floats 96-100".

aeromatic prop

Vesta does not support direct crank shaft application

is prop is for REDUCTION DRIVE engine

yes reduction drive, There is an adapter that goes from 20 spine to a standard hub. Long props in constant speed are hard to find.

DorianJ,

Airspeeds with Mac 7147 and Aeromatic F200-73:

2000 rpm 75 70
2100 80 74
2200 83 80
2300 89 88
2350 92 92

these numbers are from my pa18-95 and the pull at 2300 was 375# with aeromatic.
