Oil Pressure Relief Valve Washers

Just finished overhaul on O290-D2 and it should have about 20 lbs more of oil pressure than what it's showing. It has the old set-up where you can add up to nine washers in addition to the spring. Anyone have any idea how much the pressure will rise by adding one washer at a time?

My pressure ran a bit high, I took out two washers (seems like they were thick ones) and now it runs in the middle of the green............

If you need another 20 psi, then you probably need to go to the next spring. Typically you'll see about 2-3 psi per washer. What kind of pressure are you seeing at cruise- Also whats your idle pressure? If idle is good but cruise is low, its a shimming issue. If both are low its probably a piece of crap (technical term) under the relief ball. Good luck.
