Count me in. Last year I made it from RVS to OK18 in just over an hour. Total distance 45NM. Two go arounds followed by a perfect six point landing. The shot of me landing was on airliners.net with a caption of WOW. I didn't think it was that good.

You guys have a great time. I sure would like to be there but the slave driver "Flipper" won't let me off work long enough to go to a fly-in!

Flew to Norman yesterday on business and while there I saw a good looking Super Cub down the ramp so naturally I took a walk down the way to look it over and find out whose it was… I walked into the shop it was in front to ask if I could look it over and leave a note for the owner about the OK18 fly-in and they just laughed and said “look all you want but are you sure you want to invite the Border Patrol to a fly-in.” Sure enough when I looked at the plane it had “PATROL” on top of the right wing and it looked like the “BORDER” had not stayed on or had been removed but you could see the outline of the vinyl letters. The shop said it was a '74-150hp. It was nicely redone with one really interesting looking additional radio, maybe encrypted? She had a recent cover good simple paint, CC fuel system, AD fuel tanks (or so it looked), CC old style seats, CC Square panel with gyro plus and all new instruments, and CC metal headliner and 8.5s on the ground... they said it was based out of OKC and flies a bunch. Oh well, I'll keep recruiting, need to find the email from the guy in Ada that I met on the way back from Reklaw.

Charlie, come on and have some fun. Besides what better way to torment "Flipper" than to come to a fly-in he'll be at in the J-3 or on foot!!!...

It's a holiday weekend and you're due so load 'er up!

Kirby, what is so funny about a J3? Except me trying to land.

Nothing whatsoever you love yours and fly the wings off of it, if I had one I'd love it too... However; someone around here used to love theirs but now won't hardly fly it enough to keep the dust off even while waiting for his 180hp trouble maker to come back to life.

Just giving you a hard time Kirby. There is something comical about Steve flying a J3 but I will leave his harassment to others. I fear the photoshopper.

Dosprin: OK18 - Grande Isle Airport is in NE Oklahoma located on the shores of beautiful Lake Hudson, go to www.airnav.com for details, come and join us.

Evan really glad Lance is coming, you know he might win the short field contest, you guys be sure to bring your fishing poles and some gumbo & shrimp & crab & crawdads & more in your cooler, there will be lots of hungry folks. Hows the baby girl doing Lance? Call C-Joe he said he's coming, you might make it a LA flight of 3, we are going to compare knees, I think I've got the best looking steel knees around.

David it will be nice & warm down here so don't bring any of that cold weather with you, sounds like you had a big snowstorm hit MN yesterday.

Sign Up Sheets are coming in, thanks this helps us know how to prepare, but I would appreciate it if everybody coming would go ahead and post here also so everybody will know who is coming. So far 9 states are represented, we ordered 150 steaks this time. KEEP THOSE SIGN UP SHEETS COMING IN. Ed Doyle is in charge of the wake up call again.

    Mike,

Your steaks and hospitality are the best! Wouldn't want to miss it, plus all the real characters that appear to be showing up. Plan on getting there Friday for the boat ride down the river again.

    Mike,
The Bijou Boys are planning joining you for your fly-in. We'll probably leave Wednesday to make sure we arrive by Friday afternoon. We will be in the Super Cub & the Northstar and will possibly bring a buddy in a Cubby.
Looking forward to a great time,
    Tom & Steve

No,, but somebody could accidentally slip fall overboard, and might have to tread water for a while.

Cathy told me that your wife and her were going shopping with your credit card. Something about staying even I think she said.
