Gear Legs

I have a pair of PA 14 gear legs and a pair of PA 12 gear legs for my 12 I was thinking about making the PA 12 legs 3 inches longer to get some prop clearance. They have to have the reinforcement anyway and thats why I got the PA 14 legs but I am thinking about cutting the 12 legs making them 3 inches longer and adding the reinforcement. Has anyone done this before

start over and build new you will be much happier. Your rear tube angle will have to change to account for the extra length. The only way i can see doing it cleanly is just cut the tubes and reuse the axles, and new axles are not that expensive. Not sure about certification.
