    Pasayten River Strip

Does anyone know the condition of the Paysayten strip? A friend of mine who is from the Methow country still packs in to fish that country every summer. He said that it is still usable. He said the north end is pretty well grown over and looking at it on Google Earth it appears that about 1800' on the south end may still be usable.
Some time back (3 years??) there was some discussion of the legality of using it as it is in the Paysayten Wilderness. But like many wilderness strips may actually be legal to use.
Any NW pilots taken a look lately??
    Thanks for any info.

Pasayten strip is located in on the Paysayten River which runs north out of WA into BC. It's about 6 miles south of the US-BC border. 48*55', -121*05. Check it out on Google Earth. Major fire was burning just east of there when the Google pic was taken.
It was built and used before the area became a wilderness but I don't know it's current legal status.
I was thinking some adventurous souls in the area might know it's condition and status.

I read that it was closed when the status of the area went wilderness.
