J5 (J3 style) Shock Strut Lubrication

I've got my shock struts off the J5 to replace my bungees.

I'm cleaning and repainting to make everything pretty and remove some slight surface corrosion. What should be used to lubricate the inside sliding parts between the short and long shock strut pieces? Bearing grease? Some other lubricant?

I use OMC tripple guard water proof grease (marine grease)

Any other thoughts on what, if any, other lubricants to use for J5 Shock strut assemblies. I pulled mine apart and they were dry.

Bearing grease? Seems to last forever.
