    You can always find a plane!? (or name that tune)

    The piper cub is a lovely ship
    And she knows her way around;
    She’ll fly with ease
    Through brush & trees
    Straight up or upside down!
    She can come down clean on a narrow roof
    Or a moving bus or train
    That’s the reason why
    If you gotta fly
    You can always find a plane! :P

    The Mooney Mite is a pretty sight
    It’s small but full of spunk
    With an open hatch
    If you care to catch
    Cumulus find the chump.
    And a little red flag that begins to wag
    When the airspeed starts to wane

    That’s the reason why
    If you’re gonna fly
    You can always find a plane.

    The Cessna’s cheap
    And a lovely heap
    With metal all around
    She can lick her weight
    In any other crate
    Mile for mile & pound for pound!
    If you let her alone
    shell take you home
    Like an automatic brain;

    That’s the reason why
    Well, ya gotta fly!
    You can always find a plane!

    Now the aircoup is a flying car
    Except she’s got no doors!
    She’s made with built in bravery
    They never sell in stores!
    She doesn’t have any rudders, so
    She’ll drive your feet insane!

    That’s the reason why
    If you’re gonna fly
    You can always find a plane!

    The Bonanza's got more gagetry
    Then a rocket to the moon;
    And if they keep improving her
    That’s where she’s going soon!
    You can pile inside with a family
    She’ll never feel the strain;

    It’s the reason why
    When you gotta fly
    You can always find a plane!

    The Swift Deluxe
    Is a million bucks
    Her gear retracts with ease;
    She speeds along like a hummingbird
    One-fifty purrs a breeze!
    There’s room for two
    So it’s her & you
    In a mile high lovers lane;

    That's the reason why
    When ya gotta fly
    You can always find a plane!

    There’s Navions, Aeroncas, Arrows,
    Stinsons & Skimmers too
    With all these noble little planes
    There must be one for you!
    So if you desire a special thrill
    I'll sing it once again;

    That’s the reason why
    If you gotta fly
    You can always find a plane.

    Name that tune.

    Gotta be "The Devil Went Down To Georgia".

    I donno about a song, but I think it reads kinda like "The Cremation of Sam McGee".

    My wife agrees with I Fly The River though, with "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"

    It is a song, but I don't know the name of it, or who sang it.
    Dates back 1955 or earlier.
    If anyone knows it, please let me know.
    Thanks.

    Sounds like the Scarecrow's song from the Wizard of Oz, "If I only had a brain"...

    Dave Leonard is a guide in Alaska. He has an assistant that is a remarkable song writer. He has a Super Cub song that is great. I have only heard him sing it at parties in Kotzebue. I asked him if he would record his songs and put them on a CD but he is a typical artist. He doesn't care to. As to this song, I don't know but the lyrics work.

    Good point, Gilligan's Theme seems to work also!

    Great fun.

    There's a Hawaiian band on the mainland called "Book 'em Danno" after the tagline on Hawai Five-Oh. They do a killer reggae version of the Gilligan's Island theme, billed as a tribute to Bob and Bob: That's Bob Marley and Bob Denver

    I'm NOT making this up. In fact it was a runner-up for this year's SC Road Tape....

    Thanks. cubscout
