Turned down the hunt last year. Can't do that again. Besides I don't think they have fire ants in South Dakota yet.

Yea, last year it rained Sat night and they found a nice dry spot in my sleeping bag at 3 am. Get Jason to bring the 206 and you bring the SC. He can haul your cot and gear that way your above the ant mounds.

Jay, your turn to bring the grey goose & ice since you are closer. If I survive the SD hunting trip, and am still on speaking terms with my spouse (or not), I will be there.

It's the weekend before the SD trip isn't it Steve? We can both be in the dog house together.

Cajun Joe, Can you post that cool picture you took of all the Cubs and us telling lies at Reklaw last year. I couldn't get the old link to work. I want to print that one and hang it in my office so when I get really mad at an airplane or an owner I can remember how much fun they can be.

    Yep.. Bring your own insecticide..
I've attended most of the Reklaw fly-ins during the past 12 years.. The weather can vary from excellent to severely crappy.
I recommend a tarp, lawn chairs, a tent (unless you stay in a motel or camper) and adult beverages - no beer sales nearby. Don't forget to bring some good tie-downs.
I plan to be there... I hope to see y'all .

Jay, I might need a ride. You taking the RV or Shooter? I hate driving, that should be a sin to drive to Reklaw.

Steve, I have to go back and study SJ's instructions on photos....
meanwhile I'll send it to you on regular email.

OK Steve, I made it to the Members' gallery but somewhere in the instructions of upload version 2 I got lost between the LOL URL and
    ELLOMENOHHPEE.

And here at home all my electronic device clocks flash 12:00 12:00 12:00..

I guess as Jimmy sings, "we are the people our parents warned us about."

Thanks Joe. I just thought of an alternative method of transportation to Reklaw, Piper Brave or Pawnee. Cost me in gas but it beats driving and we could have some fun with the smoke system. Any wanna-be Ag pilots out there?

Looks fun! We're really looking forward to it!

Btw, in the past, have there been any female pilots there? Any females, period? Because you know it's a law that women must visit the bathroom facilities in pairs or more! Actually, it's just nice to have women around in Testosteroneville.

  32. #32
Lots of ladies there; lots of families. Many arrive in coaches. This is really an outing for everyone who enjoys being around airplanes.

As far as toiletries. I don't know of any poopsters on the site as we just all go sit out in that little pond in the morning. It's about 4 feet deep and perfect for a bathroom social. You'll learn to avail yourself early in the morning as late arrivals tend to have a ring around their necks.

  33. #33
Joe, I am never camping by that pond again....

Like Joe said it is a family setting with lots of women and kids and yes there are Porta-pots. And we thought you was just takin' a dip in that pond (tank if your from Texas).

That explains the abundance of large funny looking catfish swimming in that tank.

    Sharp,

There is a thread above this one that has a link to the information. http://www.supercub.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8217

Also, several of us at Sky dive houston airport(3XS7) will be making the trip. Hopefully we can get together.

I guess if there is any good news about a hurricane it may well be that Rita's rains should flush the pond (tank) at Reklaw.

Hopefully not so much that you are able to make a landing on floats (wheels up).

    reklaw parking

I am going to try to get over to reklaw from tyler on fri. or sat. Any suggestions on which day would be best, and where is the best place to be camping-I realize you probably have liitle say in this when you arrive. Also, how do the cubs stay in one area-reserved, or all arrive together, or whut.
