As far as I know, all roads lead to Wayne Mackey in Miles City Mt if you are talking experimental Cub slats. He is a straight shooter with tons of experience as he has been working STOL for most of his life. Highly recomended. Wish he'd move back to Alaska!
If you look at TJ Hinkel's photo album you'll get a lok at some of Wayne's Slots.
Also, Wayne has some great photos of his stuff in the photo album. It may take a while to find this stuff with the size that photo album has grown to, but you'll find the stuff if you look hard enough.
Hi Ben,
The E mail you sent didn't come though right on my comp. Yes I do sell the slat mod.
that will fit any cub style wing with alum. spars. the ailerons are a weld in thing
before cover. This is expermental only aircraft. I think my P.M. is working again so
give a hoot. Wayne
Ben:
As stated by Dave, I was impressed enough with Waynes video of his slats to install them on my Exp. I don't impress easily.
I've got both slats fabricated and fitted to the wings. I can tell you, that unless you have a bunch of patience, pay Waynes to make them. They look simple, but the alignment of the hinge points have to be near perfect. My first one just fell in place, however, I have redone the second one three times to get it lined up right.
It was not a problem with the design, it was a problem with the fabricator! ME!
Wayne had a home video of a Cub with his slats installed. Don't know if he still has it or not.
Yes, I'm using Waynes Drooped aileron design also. I did change a couple things. He uses the flap handle for flaps/aileron. I'm putting another handle on the right side of the cabin so I can have seperate control of the ailerons.
