headset noise

For some reason I have a bunch of static noise in my headset. The transmission seems to be fine, also when I receive transmission, the headset is great. The noise and static happens when there is no transmission at all. It is like flying with the window open in the back seat and having the wind going into the mike. The only thing I have done different is that I forgot to turn off my radios the nite before. Anybody have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks Mark

Check the squelch control on your intercom system.

A second set of headsets can cause this if there located in the wrong place and plugged in. Different brand of headsets plugged in together have a different squelch tolererance and can cause this two. Check to see if your VOR volume is turned down if you have one. Another audio source can do this.
