    Plane-less in WA

A Great day, but also a Sad Day!

Marc Olson is the proud new owner of my "Freightliner PA-12". Thanks to SC.org and my great friends on the Site, I sold the plane to a local pilot and a person that will, I am sure, get as much enjoyment out of it as I did!

This is the first time since 1975 that I have not had a plane to fly. My wife and I are entering a new season in our life, We have put our home on Parkside Airpark (W87) up for sale (I will publish the flyer on the site next week) and have purchased a new home just 2 miles up the highway.

The New home has a 2600sf shop, that I have alread begun remodeling to set up to build my next project (An experimental SC)

I fully intend to stay active on the website, continue to gain knowledge and experience from all of you.

    Thanks again for the ride!

    Hey Tim,
Marc is a lucky guy, he's getting a great -12. Wish I had even 1/2 the mods your does. But I did tell him he is going to need to repaint it or get very good at saying "No, that wasn't me, must have been the previous owner!"
Sure hope you find time to continue to hang around here and chime in, you are a wealth of knowlege and I, like many others here, know I am far better for your having taken the time to share some of it.
The Freightliner will be just up the road hanging out w/ Mikey, Miss Daisy and the T-cart, come by and give us a flying lesson when you are in the neighborhood. Best of wishes on this new phase, look forward to coming down and seeing some progress out in that shop.
    Regards
    Chris

Tim - Congrats (?) I hope on your "new phase". Sure it will hurt not to have an airplane for awhile but its not a plane-less phase - its a rebuild/building phase right??

Hope you will continue to hang around and that you will make the Snohomish fly in. If transportation is an issue I'm sure that one of the boys will be happy to drop down and pick you up. Keep in touch.
Stand your ground, don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war let it begin here. - Capt. John Parker, Lexington April 19, 1775.

    new plane / old plane

Hey Tim and Mark. Good to hear both of you are happy with the sale of of the Freightliner. It won't be far from me and I will enjoy seeing it again. Tim the flyin in Snohomish is going to be great, Mark Hanson is really doing alot of work to help us make it a great event. Maybe you could talk with the Bush Wheel people and see if they can make it. I know you will make it to the flyin, the guys down there wouldn't let you miss it. Extra big steak for you and Mark. A experimental SuperCub Wow ! Since your last one was The Freightliner maybe the New one could be. BIG MACK

Jeez Tim, Now I s'pose you'll embarass me by finishing your project before I finish mine - - but I'll try not to let that happen - - how 'bout first one done has to take the other up for a drive?!! I have two ailerons fitted and ready for cover on new built-from-scratch wings; flaps next, then the Dodge tanks, then, and then, and then - -. I'll have to stop by after work one of these days and hear what you have in mind!

    You all are to kind!

I do hope to hitch a ride to the NW fly in at Hansens? Bill, I look forward to seeing your project as well. Chris, you and Marc make quite the Duo! I expect I will get a letter or to from our friends in the Radar room, accusing me of flying to high (I don't think the Freighliner ever went above 500 ft with me at the stick.

I hope to get started on the Exp. project sometime this next winter. It will be quite an adjustment not living on a strip and taking my frustrations out on the beaches and gravel bars!

You all fly safe and keep the flat side of the wings facing down!

Tim After selling the cub and moving off an airstrip the next step[ is to get a really good wheechair with a sun shade.
And remembering the flight to Alaska the wheelchair will probably be faster.
