    The Second Penobscot River Fly Up, Plunk Down and Splash In

    When: Saturday, May 28, 2005

    Where: The State of Maine (Old Town and Millinocket, respectively)

    Who: Anyone and anything that flies: wheels, floats, etc.

    Itinerary and Events:

    1000: Rally at Old Town Aviation,
    Dewitt Field and Seaplane Base (KOLD)

    Join the Flock here at the rally point. Refreshments will be served by our good friends at Old Town Aviation prior to our departure.

    1030: Departure from Old Town for a flight up the mighty and majestic Penobscot River to the Katahdin Region.

    The gaggle departs for a scenic flight line astern up the river.

    1145: Arrival at West Branch Aviation, Millinocket Municipal Airport (KMLT) (Note: JetA is now available for you turbine types)

    After a delightful scenic tour of Katahdin Region we'll gather at MLT for lunch.

    1200--1400: BBQ at West Branch Aviation

    Partake of a splendid assortment of hamburgers and hotdogs at our BBQ lunch at WBA. There is no charge but donations to cover the cost of food will be greatly appreciated. That and buying some fuel.

    1400--1600: Aviation "Activities"

    Goodness knows what we'll do. But we're going to do something. Be prepared.

    Break

    1900--?: Dinner out and BEvERages for those spending the night

    After a tough day of flying, what could be better than relaxing with old and new friends at a local establishment for good food and drink?

    Join us at The Scootic Inn, located on Main Street in Millinocket for what promises to be a legendary evening designed to produce numerous anecdotes for aviation annals.

    Details:

    A courtesy shuttle will be provided from the seaplane pick up point (TBA) to West Branch Aviation for the BBQ.

    Past attendees have expressed an interest in staying up for the weekend. Great idea! The region has lots of recreational opportunities and lodging. Families are welcome! The following web sites will give you an idea of what you can do and where to stay.

    Inclement Weather: There is no rain date.

    Legal: Attendance is at your own risk.

    looks like wheel planes can go to right?


    do you know of ne j-3's or pa-11's for sale up there?

    my dad is lookin for one to keep at camp or pushaw... we have a camp on nicatous lake
