Rate of climb PA-12 on skiis

At about 30°F with my 12 on skiis with VG, Borer 82 x 44 one 6 ft tall passenger and tanks 3/4 at 60 mp/h, 0-320 150HP and 2500 federal skiis I have 2000 to 2200 ft/min rate of climb. I would like to know if it is good and what other skiis flyers on the group average. On floats I have about 1100ft/min. at full gross. It is the first season that I fly on skiis.

my guess is your rate of climb indicator is mistaken, or you have a miracle cub.

Your VSI is definitely incorrect. You'd be lucky to pull 800-1000 fpm with only one person in it.

Wow!! Some numbers. For comparison . . on Saturday it was 35- 40 degrees , Federal wheel replacement skis, 1/2 tanks, me and PA-18 with a low time 135 hp Lyc. The best rate I saw on an overhauled gauge was 1,200 to 1,300. Larry Ciszak

    -12 ROC

Altimeter, wrist watch... easy to figure it out. I would suspect it will be better than floats, but your 2000fpm is dreaming.

    PA-12 VSI

OK, OK guys, I will have my VSI check or will try an other one. It was too nice to be true. Even if the VSI is not good the bird is not for sale.
