pa 12 ailerons

need help on setting the travel on the ailerons the T. C. call for 25de down and 31de up when i set booth ailerons down to 23 all i get is 20de up i checked my 18 and all i get is 20 de up any ideas john

Are you using a Supercub torque tube? That could do it.

You need to have the bolt on link on the torque tube where the cables attach also.

it has the Supercub torque tube i think it is day and night s STC

The cable pylon on the underside of the torque tube is significantly longer on a 12. It provides more cable travel both ways.

what are the proper settings do you set them like a 18

My Supercub torque tube is in the basement, and the original 12 tube is back in the plane. My ailerons are set to conform with the T.C. specifications. My mechanic didn't give me a choice.

The PA12 aileron travels are determined by the bellcrank stops in the wing. They are not adjustable. The bellcrank "has" to be centered to obtain the correct travels. You also have to have the extension on the bottom of the torque tube.
The PA18 is different. The travels are set by the bracket that's attatched to the center aileron hinge. The reason that the PA18 travels are equal in both directions is that they are not differential ailerons like the PA12.
