18 tail on PA22/20

I know there is a few PA 22/20s around that have PA-18 tails on them. Does anyone have first hand info on performance? Does this help at all in reducing ground roll on takeoff? I have Charlie centers droop leading edge, VGs, and extensions with tips, I couldn't help but to wonder if an 18 tail would compliment this wing.

I have a previously approved 337 but have yet to try it. I was told that the tail would still be effective down to the stall with the bigger tail feathers. I have flown Pacers that were hard to three point and was told the SC tail helped.
