    T.J....

The problem is that you can't "modify" the Flight Manual and/or Supplement without FAA Engineering involvement and you may not want to go there... The only Flight Manual approvals a FSDO Inspector can do are avionics related, by an Avionics Inspector...

Any deviation from an STC requires a field approval.

Any deviation requiring a flight manual supplement requires a coordinated field approval. A coordinated field approval involves the Aircraft Certification Office (ACO). The ACO is what we commonly know as "engineering".

The climate of our local ACO is presently quite a "rare" one. There is only one good "body" there now, and he is tasked with all the "Capstone" stuff right now. Any other projects will be years down the road.

What a great time to remove or "review" the field approval process?????????????????????
