New Desser 31'' tire

If you're a fan of adapters and tubed tires the Desser option should be more friendly to the prop than Air Hawks. I'd like to test the rolling resistance of Dessers compared to Bushwheels at similarly squishy inflation pressures. I already know that Air Hawks are harder to push around.

I ran the shaved 29" Gar Aeros most of the time. All up they were about 31 lbs same as the old airstreaks. When I was planning to get bushy I would put on my set of 'streaks. This saved a lot of wear and tear on the airstreak. I liked the gar aero setup because it is very durable(resistant to damage by rocks and sticks), have plenty of flotation and didn't require any special treatment such as covering to protect from uv.

Same plane, same day, two popular tire choices. I'd like to try the Dessers, too, but I sold my 10" wheels.

How about some pics of mounted tires

Was just searching the forum if there was any other info on Desser 31’s on a cub. The Cub we got already had them installed and I don’t have any experience with bushwheels. Got over 60 hrs on them. Running from 8 psi to 15 psi on gravel and sand beaches. Plane is based on asphalt and so far very little wear and after nearly 2 years of being outside uncovered there is no weather checking. Has stiff sidewalls and at 8psi is soft but not bushwheel soft (after kick testing other planes with BW’s). Seems to run over odd softball sized rocks and moderately rough tundra just fine. Haven’t run any lower pressures as they are fitted with a 29” tube. After our family acquired the plane we were hell bent on getting Bushwheels, but now the Dessers are going to stay on till they wear out. So for the last poster on this thread who was wondering about pics of them mounted here are some.
